The Palace Queen room had very classic furniture and a beautiful view. Super central location near the train station, the restaurant, and the lake in Lugano.

The executive king room I stayed in was high standard with nice belcony view. The hotel was in the super central setting within walking distance of many of Lugano's tourist attractions. I ate in the gastronomic restaurant nearby...

water in the swimming pool crystal clear, everything super clean and sparkling clean, no fingerprints on mirrors, in the room, pleasant professional power hair dryer, warmed towels and shower towels, everything has been immediately prepared and filled, beds very comfortable, soft eiderdowns and a great selection of pillows! called at night and concierge brought the desired additional blankets, chambermaid brought the bedding every evening and asked if we needed anything, there were fresh flowers in our room. at breakfast, thanks to the super toaster, rolls were fresh out of the oven and crispy and we could have breakfast in peace on the terrace until 11 o'clock (without anyone saying anything). very nice, luggage was brought to our room immediately and mineral water bottles were available for free at the entrance for refreshment.
In one elevator the light always went out, the roof terrace a little bit unloving.

The check-in was early and efficient. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was distinct and inviting. The room was nicely furnished and generously sized, with a balcony. The hotel had a large terrace that added to the overall experience.

The location is excellent, the room has a huge terrace, the view is stunning, delicious a la carte dining at the restaurant (which is rare for hotel restaurants), great concierge work!
At the reception they withdrew 200 euros more, and when I pointed out the mistake, no one even apologized, as it is necessary. It's amazing. So be careful and check the receipts!!! Bad pillows (you could probably ask for them, but we forgot). . There's sticky stains on the floor in the bathroom, but it's very clean... Paid omelette at breakfast, the first time I've seen it in five stars. . . The hotel's not new, but that's its charm.

Breakfast: very good, everything available, whether continental, English or American. Buffet with everything you need. Attentive waiters. Additional requests, if necessary, possible according to the card (but normally not necessary). Room: everything was clean. Quiet location, rooms with a view of the lake and surrounding mountains (we have booked rooms with a view of the lake).. Transport service to the train station: free of charge, no waiting times (reservation also possible)
We had the New Year's Eve dinner for around CHF 250 per person (excluding drinks). The reservation hadn't worked for this. We still received the dinner, but unfortunately not in the beautiful dining room (but somewhat isolated, in a smaller room). The white wine was in a cooling container, at the same table, but opposite and unfortunately not accessible from the chair. The refill was not completely guaranteed by the waiters. And getting up to refill myself was too cumbersome for me (I have some health problems on my back).

Location, view, restaurant and for sure the upgrade we've got.
The rude answer from the receptionist when I gently asked him to replace one of the Arabic channels with another one which I know for sure that he could do it but he just said no without any reason. Actually his reply was we already have 2 Arabic channels.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
